Yesterday I changed 10 halgon 50 watts to 12 watt yellow fluorescents (warm light energy saver) all by my self. I pulled out the circular frames of the halogens abd cut away their transformers then put in new screw type frames and energy saver bulbs I bought earlier.

I plan to change the rest of the halogens and incandescents into energy savers.

LED lighting is still new here and is not easly avaialable or cheap. But I did experiement and find some expensive LED blubs that only consume 2 watts and have an equivalent output of 60 wats incandescent. I was planning to further experiment on the the LED portable battery lights by cutting them open and connecting their transformers directly to AC wires. But for now the energy savers are the most convenient option.

I also bought those colored strips of LED lighting to experiment with.

I did find some good LED lights in an email from China via a B2B site. Maybe if I had the business knowhow I could be the distributer here in Saudi Arabia. Have a look and tell me what you think and about other options.
