(projects i'm following)
My life's project is to help the best I can to spread and materialize the new architectural theories developed by Christopher Alexander. Further I want to implement the principles of the German term "Baubiologie," and material ecology is one of my great interests. Third I want to make permaculture and permanent agriculture a natural part of all built environments.
Further I'm a great supporter of the commons!
I should enjoy getting in contact with other people from my region sharing my interests.
My hope for the future is that my newly born daughter can live in a permacultural world!
The design is out there already.
Lene, the author of the well worth visiting blog The Essence of the Good Life, has made what is probably the world's best collection of bed alcoves.
A precise observation by James Kalb on the present situation of architecture.
I just found this excellent introduction to Alexander's 15 properties of life!
I'll strongly encourage all to follow this online course on architectural theory, held by one of the world's most important thinkers.
Alexander has shown how spirit reveals itself through matter in the field of centers, through the transformation of the 15 properties of life and the 11 properties of color.
Modern man's fear of beauty is rooted in a fear of God. Fear in the word's most negative sense.
James Alexander Arnfinsen har laget et interessant intervju med Mehdi Nodehi, lederen for Earthship Biotecture Sweden.
Can we call ourselves believers when what we are making is not a gift to God?
Could the majority of our proposed technological solutions be doing little more than kicking the can down the road towards ecological collapse?
The separation of ornament from function is a cosmological matter because it fits, and supports, and stems from, the mechanistic view.
Metropolis Magazine don't let me defend myself against Alice, but I guess most readers anyway will look through her as a hysterical modernist being stepped on her toes only. Here's my defense.

It’s hard to love what we don’t see, so let’s bring the commons right out into the spotlight!
In order to create living structure we have to regain the worldview of the 14th-century Christian monk.
I'm sorry to see the stupid idea of splicing has become a part of the natural building and permaculture movements.
Upon the completion of his four-volume work, The Nature of Order, Christopher Alexander talks with Traditional Building about his vision for our future architecture.

I 'm going to write an introduction to this amazing lecture by Christopher Alexander last year, a must see for everyone wanting to live in a livable world. Meanwhile, share this video with all your friends!
Paul Lødøen, Managing Director of Oslo S Utvikling (development) (OSU), compares the new Barcode Wall of Bjørvika, Oslo, with New York's Greenwich Village and the Latin Quarter of Paris!?!
I just received this email from my astonishing PDC-teacher Aranya, trained as a physicist, but devoted his life to become a low income PDC-teacher rather than a highly paid scientist. A man that truly lives by his words!
Artificial ventilation systems reduce the amount of beneficial ions with 10% for every meter air is pumped through metal tubes. This is damaging to our health. Use natural ventilation!
Hopefully an upcoming article on the PRI-blog? Meanwhile I post it here. Excuse my English mistakes, this will be corrected if the post will be approved for PRI-publishing.
Before our living pattern languages can conquer the world we must fight the antipatterns.
"The crude industrial processes that powered our world for a century or more leave us with depletion, fragmentation, and decay. Living systems can show us the way to recover and sustain the damaged systems upon which life depends."
Dokument i materialøkologi, naturlig overflatebehandling.
Christopher Alexander's theories and findings are among the most important for future permaculture!

A call from Nikos A. Salingaros to help Oslo
Another old article, quite naive, but still with some value. Too bad just to trash it! Or what do you think? (In Scandinavian language)
People live unlimited lives in a limited world, and the economists preach salvation through eternal growth. The HPI-index offers an alternative.
There is no way to be whole as a human with artificial ventilation systems and sealed plastic walls, because these solutions represent the machine age and is an attack at human Biophilia. Although the article is in Norwegian it has useful English links.
An old article I once wrote about ecovillages, but I hope it still has some relevance. (Scandinavian language)
Nylig så jeg en tankevekkende dokumentar fra BBC om hvordan plastsedimenter på havbunnen en dag vil bli til framtidas fjell, og bære vitnesbyrd om den geologiske perioden antropocen, eller menneskenes tidsalder.

Lofoten is the sponging ground for the cod fish of the Barents Sea and the North Atlantic herring grows up here, two of the world’s most important fisheries. Unfortunately the oil industry is pressing on to open it up for drilling.
