I grew up in Boise, Idaho in the Mormon Church. After graduating I left this life for Portland, OR where I spent a year gaining residency. I never ended up going to school, and in the meantime was involved with public radio KBOO, a local study group "Intellectual Property, The Commons, & The Sacred", and attended silent dance parties along with protests as I was under 21.
I left for Maui in October of 2013 for 6 months. Here, I WWOOFed, and also had the opportunity to live in a community. I first heard of permaculture on the Islands. As soon as I made it back to the States I went looking for a PDC, and found myself at Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute in Basalt, CO.
I currently intern at CRMPI, and have been here since August, 2014. We are working on the final edits to Jerome Osentowski's (Founder) book, Forest Garden Greenhouse, which I had the opportunity of being a contributing author on. I also work as Director's Assistant to Kim Willey of Growing Food Forward, creating community gardens, and distributing seeds all through the Valley. Recently, I've been asked to help curate the new Steward's Of Permaculture website that will host a digest of permaculture news from around the world online.
If you have a farm, project, organization, or blog online you'd like to have hosted on our website, please contact me!
Warmly
~Rae
