Back to Richard Larson's profile
Posted by Richard Larson over 10 years ago
The material used in this compost heap included 1/4 a mixture of rabbit, goose, duck, and goat manure. 1/4 last year's fall yard clean up including leaves, spent garden plants, and sod. 1/4 honey locust seeds raked up from a local hotel yard. And 1/4 kitchen waste accumulated over the entire winter (it is hard to aquire enough green material around here at this time early spring, so this is a smart manuever..).
The material was thoughfully layered as I built the pile to four feet high. At the end of the first displayed video you can view the first hot steamy turn through a link at the end of this video.
Then here is the update on the snow seeding effort.
