This is a baby puff adder, found on our demonstration site. We had a group of Boy Scouts who caught it. Puff Adder clutches are as big as 150 babies, and this is a young juvenile. So it's feasible we have 100 of these on our site.
Puff Adders kill more people on the continent of Africa than any other snake, and some estimates are that it kills more than all the other snakes combined. On the other hand, our mice population will probably go down.
