About Rene Nijstad

I've always liked challenges, from being a teenager through to my adult life. I've been active as a volunteer in youth organizations, setup and ran different businesses in different parts of the world and I'm currently working to setup a permaculture farm in rural Colombia.

Especially since the economic downturn that began in 2008, watching the ever growing discrepancies between the 'official' news outlets and my personal experiences and perceptions, I became aware that the problems we face in this world are mounting. When I stumbled on permaculture I recognized the option to actively help to turn mankind to a better way of living on this planet.

Our farm is still in the early stages. You can see some updates below and more on our page (see the link to our website). We have space for interns who would like to experience building a permaculture farm from scratch.

A few posts today and the following days of what we've been up to so far. Today some examples of seedlings grown from seed by ourselves.

The farm we bought can almost be characterized as a jungle. The view is magnificent, the atmosphere relaxing... just have a look!

We have bought the farm and we have moved!

We're excited to start our own permaculture farm in rural Colombia, and we hope to become another part of the PRI master plan sites around the world!
