For the last 10 years, I am employed as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in an engineering consultancy company which is located in Bahrain. Being an OFW, it is somewhat unpredictable to determine the employee’s tenure of employment as we are based on a project basis only.
In order to maintain stability to my family’s welfare, it is important to find an alternative work, preferably within my country of origin that can sustain my family’s needs. It is not only just to find alternative income, but a work that could be beneficial to all people and environment.
Believing that the future is in the rural area, I bought a small piece of land situated at the northern part of the Philippines. With my experiences in Architectural designing and the knowledge that I've learned from my previous employments and Permaculture design course, this 1 hectare land will be my future.
And so, this will be the start of my Permaculture life.
