2009 - 2010 Teaching of Permaculture courses through Olds College (Olds and Calgary campuses). Development of course modules for a “Cold Climate Permaculture” as an accredited course through the Continuing Education department. Teaching Permaculture Intro courses in various locations around Alberta. Co-taught a 2 week Permaculture Design course in Olds July 2010 with Ron Berezan (The Urban Farmer)
April 08 –April 09 Project Assistant, International Dept. Olds College.
Assisting Mexican students with their farm practicum’s and helping to organize their studies and helping with course work. Full time.
January 2005 Permaculture Consultancy in Beijing, China for 3 weeks.
Teacher 1993 – 2003 1993-94 - I taught learning disabled adults Horticultural job skills in a College in Canada.
1994 Murwillumbah (Australia) TAFE (Technical College)- I taught Permaculture Practices and Herb Production classes.
1995 & 1996 - I taught 2 Permaculture Design Courses in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, Palestine together with Peter Wade.
1994 – 1999 I taught Introductory Permaculture Courses and Herb Production courses part time in Maleny Qld.
1996 I co-wrote/co-produced a “how–to” Permaculture video entitled “Eat Your Garden – Create a Permaculture Oasis”.
1997 I lived and worked in the aboriginal community of Doomadgee (far North Queensland, Australia) on a training contract with Cooloola Institute of TAFE. I taught Permaculture gardening, cooking, and video production.
1998-2001 I worked at the Global Eco-village office in Crystal Waters (Permaculture village) for 3 years part-time and compiled/edited a book “Eco-villages and Communities Directory for Australia and New Zealand”.
1994-2002 I lived in Crystal Waters community for 10 years, spending time on both the Body Corporate Board and the Co-op Board during that time. I developed many gardens in CW and Maleny at that time.
Conference Organiser
Jan –Nov 2000 National Communities Conference 2000. I worked part-time/full-time for
months on all aspects of organizing an “intentional communities” conference/arts festival. From the inception, organizing speakers, art workshops, lodging, food, tours and dealing with the needs of 75 people over a 4 day period, I learned a lot! 75 people attended from all over Australia and New Zealand. I received very positive feedback from all
who came.
