Shaun Abbs grew up in a small agriculture town in North Eastern Saskatchewan. He moved to Saskatoon 6 years ago after taking one year of a 3 year environmental degree offered in Vermillion Alberta. There he started a career in the field of Land Survey, where he worked highways, pipeline, earthworks and legal survey. Shaun over time found a melding in the two field of work that he loved with Permaculture where he began purchasing his own survey equipment and started taking on personal jobs with a Permaculture flavor.

Shaun went on to attain his PDC or Permaculture Design Certificate, under Jesse Lemieux (Pacific Permaculture) in 2010 and became one of the founding members of Permaculture Research Institute Saskatchewan. Shaun has also work with Tayler Krawczyk (Hatchet & Seed) and Jesse Lemieux on the Forest Garden Demonstration Sight at Ness Creek.

Since Shaun's beginning at Lichen Nature in May of 2011 he has worked on over a dozen Permaculture designs and has help implement over half of them most of them located in Saskatoon. Shaun's Combination of 3d Drafting, Survey skills, Environmental education and Permaculture makes for an effective and thorough designer, very capable in aspects like water systems, mapping, and botany.
