I'm a Permaculture designer, and I draw the quirky, love-filled worlds I want to live in, and sometimes actually do.
I'm 'Made in Melbourne', and its shows, but these days live in harbor-side Sydney, and sometimes Tokyo, my winter home of the last 21 years.
My job, and my life-mission, is Permaculture designer for our Inner life.
Its about getting into people's homes, their ways of talking and being, and showing how we can design to have less traps and pits in our lives.
No more kitchens that fight us, no more expectations we will never meet.
I see Permaculture as a design system for more creativity and connectedness, design for telling the truth more quickly, and being surprised by the results.
One test of how well we are doing is how often we can eat home-grown lunches, under dappled light, in the company of people we admire, who admire us right back.
Another test is how willingly we head back to work, work that we know is important.
Do I live like this?
It ebbs and flows.
Can I help you and your students live like this?
If your observation skills are already good, the chances are high.
I want this way of living now, but also in my future.
I want this way of living for everyone.
Permaculture design principles will get you there. Japanese traditional culture will get you there, elegantly (you have to select, though).
I have a feeling Apple Mac design principles will get you there, but I'm still extrapolating, still testing.
There aren't enough people doing what I do.
So far, its just me.
Initiating mysterious workshops, home decluttering, hope-giving Presentations.
Making things sparky between people, digging a new world into being.
Our cities need one designer like me in each street. I had better start hustling. xx Cecilia
