I grew up on a dairy & beef farm. Left it to explore other occupations in the city. I have worked in the oilfield, trucking and food shipping industries.
For the past 10 years I have been looking at finding a way to utilize my parents farm. I have been to a few herb conferences and have gardened the last 6 years there. I have been an avid listener to podcasts and found myself drawn to many of the ones that talked about permaculture.
This winter a friend mentioned a Permaculture Design course taking place in Calgary this spring. I decided it was something I could not miss and have just had the first 2 days of classes. For now my plan is to use the knowledge I gain to make use of the farm land available to me and then once I have some experience to move more in a consulting role.
Dad has gotten on board with re-purposing pallets and other things so much, that he has created a website.
I am picking up my BCS-732 with rotary plow this saturday.
