Learned about permaculture in 1990 and interned/took PDC at Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture in 1992. Have been learning and practicing ever since. Wrote Edible Forest Gardens with Dave Jacke (2005) and Perennial Vegetables (2007). Ran urban farm for five years with Nuestras Raices in Holyoke MA USA.
I love the concept that it's not about reducing our impact, but optimizing our impact. And I love participating in edible ecosystems. Also find it a great tool for assisting community efforts for self-determination.
Currently writing articles and book about stabilizing the climate with carbon-sequestering perennial farming systems. Still gardening our urban 1/10 acre forest garden with 200 species, planted 2004. Teaching, writing, consulting, also board member of Apios Institute for Regenerative Perennial Agriculture.
Writing a book about the power of perennial crops and regenerative farming to sequester carbon, love your help for campaign through April 30 2013
We've been working on a wiki for food forest plants. Please check it out at www.apiosinstitute.org.
