The Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) is about to start our next round of rooftop garden experiments! We are working hard to figure out the very best methods for sustainably producing food on urban roofs in Egypt. In order to do so, we need to replace the growing medium (soil) in our rooftop planters. This batch of growing medium features 100% locally sourced materials. Replacing medium is a fun but labor intensive process, so we need YOUR HELP to get it done on time.
We will be working September 28th and 29th. Light refreshments will be served. You are welcome to come for as long as you are able between 10am and 4pm on either or both of the work days. Please contact RISE research associate Starr Brainard at starr.brainard@aucegypt.edu and inform her what time you intend to participate.
