Permaculture Teacher Training
France – November 4th-9th, 2013

Permaculture en Pays Catalan is pleased to receive Rosemary Morrow, permaculture pioneer, for a permaculture teacher training from November 4th to 9th of 2013, in the South of France (Eastern Pyrenees), near Perpignan.
Content
Join Rosemary Morrow for six days of intensive permaculture teacher training that will change the way you think about education, and enable you to take action towards a permaculture teaching career. Permaculture teacher training can build your ability to empower others with life-changing skills. Learn how to pass on knowledge of permaculture theory and practice in a way that creates real change within your students, and activates entire communities. This intensive 6-day course will cover many essential and practical aspects of permaculture teaching that can then be applied to PDC teaching, community permaculture education, permaculture school garden teaching and many other forms of knowledge transfer.
The content of the course includes:
Introductions, hopes and experience;
Teaching the PDC and short courses;
Teaching methods: lectures, workshop, groups, etc.;
Who are your learners – what do they need?;
Psychology of adult learners;
Principles of adult learning;
Learning targets;
Teaching tools, references, models;
What makes a good teacher?;
Teacher behavior;
Assessments of class and teacher;
Visual tools – materials, etc.;
Micro-teaching;
What are our desired outcomes?;
PDC course structure;
Learners with special needs, prisoners, ethnic minorities.
Teacher
Rosemary "Rowe" Morrow is recognized for her pragmatic and effective approach to creating Permaculture systems across an incredibly broad range of environments. Her knowledge on how to create abundance, food security and successful sustainable farming models, no matter what the country, is extensive. In addition to being a much valued permaculture designer and educator, Rosemary is also passionate about training permaculture teachers. She has contributed the formation of community- scale Permaculture systems in such diverse biospheres as Uganda, Thailand, the Middle East, Australia and northern Europe, to name but a few.
She will be joined by Alfred Decker and Léo Matteudi.
Requirements
Students must have completed a PDC (Permaculture Design Course).
Practical information
The course will take place in the South of France (Western Pyrenees) near Perpignan. The precise place is to be confirmed.
A full board will be proposed (indoor accommodation and all the meals).
