So much of the permaculture information and news is international in nature and while this is great, I have found that it is difficult to actually get a good grasp on what is going on in just the midwest. I would like to start with aggregating the information coming from Indiana and Illinois and then use this as a model to bring in other midwestern state resources. I think this would do a couple things.

One: Give more regional and local news and research particular to this region

Two: It would increase the awarenes to others outside the region and hopefully attract more people to the Permaculture Teaching Centers in the Midwest.

Three: Those teaching permaculture in the midwest would be able to better support our students and we would be able to learn more from our students.

Some side benefits would include larger international presence of permaculture in the midwest, sharing and swapping of midwest varieties of plants, and overall health and resilience of the midwest in this time of Transisiton.

Feel free to contact me if this sounds interesting this is truly a slow solution project. One of the things I would like to do is a tour of peoples homes, homesteads, and projects that are utilizing permaculture. My dream would be to find the funding to put a tour together and create podcasts and a DVD highlighting Permaculture in the Midwest. I have the tent and equiptment to do it!
