In order to kick-start permaculture businesses that focus on ecological and social world-change, I've been applying for 'Social Entrepreneurship' Fellowships.
I think there's a big shift happening in the mainstream business / corporate world right now, where people are waking up to what's happening in the world. They're turning their sites to what we can do about it, but using the same lens they're comfortable with - entrepreneurial businesses.
I think this is a great for those of us who are passionate about permaculture. It means that there is in increased flow of capital (financial, and other forms - see my upcoming article in Permaculture Magazine) available for us to start permaculture projects.
Here are two of the fellowships I've been thinking applied for recently:
• Echoing Green
• StartingBloc
Anyone else been looking at this? Any other opportunities come to mind?
