Hi, welcome in my profile !
I'm a little new to the world of permaculture since I've made the PDC for some months, in the middle of 2010. I really like the concept, the method, the ethic, the logic and the resilience that permaculture can offer.
From my actual point of view, people who want to practice it can only be good people !
... So far, I've only met that kind of perma-people ;-)
Well, a year before that perma-course, my old friend, Tommy Verne, and I, wanted to create a project of a little farm : grow vegetables, avoid the use of chemicals, be self-sufficient in water and energy, take some animals like hen and goat ...
This project was born from our observations about the (bad) state of the world : wars, peak oil, flood, soil erosion, hurricane, drought, crisis, desertification, water contamination, food poisoning ...
And so, we began to train ourselves on matters which come into the project, by reading books, surfing articles on the net, attend other courses ...
We have collect and synthesize those informations on a web site, which will be open soon :-)
That's the title of a book I'm reading now, and I'm warmly recommending it to people who have interest in advanced study about the soil.
