I grew up in Germany and was trained as a horticulturist and Master Craftsman for Landscaping there. I was living in Sri Lanka during the 2004 tsunami and found myself thrown into aid work for the following two years until the political situation became too dangerous. I then moved to the Canadian West Coast to work as a crew leader in landscaping.
My traumatic experience in Sri Lanka and the wasteful practices of landscaping sparked my interest in Permaculture.
I took a PDC with Jesse Lemieux which brought my passion back. After small PC improvements to my own and my neighbors' (veggie) gardens I decided to jump into the deep end and make my way to Australia - the Land of Permaculture.
I am currently doing the 10-week Internship at the PRI, which includes a number of specialty courses as well as on the ground and classroom training.
I am looking to get more experience in different climates and cultures after leaving the PRI and am currently ready willing and able to follow any exciting lead. I bring a lot of different skills with me that I would like to contribute and expand in the Permaculture way. I would like to be involved in setting up projects and communities internationally.
