I am a permaculture practitioner who currently works fulltime at the University of Southern Queensland as a learning designer. I and my partner recently purchased an existing house and we are retrofitting it to incorporate sustainable energy use and permaculture design principles.

I am in the process of learning more about permaculture as part of my weekend role as permaculture coordinator of the Toowoomba Organic Community Gardens.

Part of my journey both at home and in the community garden is finding out what works in Towoomba's climate, which is sub-tropical but with an elevation that makes cold days and frost a key design consideration.
