Hello my name is Margot Pomeroy. I currently live in Pittsburgh with my family and I am working on finally getting my high school diploma after being out of school for two years due to chronic nerve pain.
I actually became interested in permaculture while bed-ridden and on narcotics as a result of the nerve pain. My world was shattered and ugly and when I finally stumbled across permaculture, due to my unique interest in livestock farming, it was like a beautiful shimmering light at the end of the tunnel; the only thing that could possibly make the world right again.
Well since then I have gotten off of narcotics and have finally started my life again. I attend night school twice a week to hopefully graduate in October and move on to college by January, and have just started a job at Una Biologicals, a local handmade herbal beauty product company. Despite the changes, my love of permaculture has only grown, and I just completed Geoff Lawton's summer Online Permaculture PDC program and am now a certified permaculture designer. I am available for work as a permaculture designer, consultant or teacher, and due to my lack of hands-on experience, would be more than happy to work as part of a group or team. I would love to be updated on any permaculture activities in my area and am wildly excited to experience and participate in permaculture in the future to come.
I may be available for aid work, but due to my condition, my physical abilities are limited.
