Born and raised in the Northeast US I spent a lot of time playing out in the woods. After 25 years trying to figure out why the world didn't seem to fit right with what my head seemed to think was right I realized I needed to do more thinking and more growing to carry on.

Enter permaculture. I first encountered the term in David Blume's Alcohol Can Be a Gas but it wasn't until later, when I realized what folks like Geoff Lawton, Paul Wheaton, Ben Falk, and Jack Spirko had been up to that I was hooked. Since then I've gone after every bit of information I can get my hands on.

I spend much of my time working on my own homestead and custom tailored lifestyle. My wife, 2 kids, pets, and livestock ensure that every day is interesting, if not restful, and educational, if not peaceful.

Working with the great team over at geofflawtononline.com has been an honor and a privilege as each new OPDC offering brings new questions, minds, and experiences to the permaculture movement. Watching the course and working with students over the years has been extremely rewarding and spurred great personal growth. I am looking forward to teaching again in the latest online course offering and into the future.
