I did my PDC under Geof Lawton and it was a life-changing experience even though I had been 'bitten' by the permie bug years before through reading the (then) Permaculture International Journal.

I'm retired now and live in residential suburbia. I have sent two of my three sons to do their PDC's also under Geoff Lawton.

My only claim to fame is that I have seconded a small 7m X 7m patch of my nature strip and turned it into 'edible streetscaping', or a little kerbside 'food forest'. It is 12 years old now and the oranges and lemons especially, are to die for! There are now 20 or so useful, edible plants where before there was useless, energy-sapping lawn!

Currently I am on the steering committee to build a local Community Garden which is really exciting. Fortunately the president is also a permaculturist, so the garden is going to be very 'different'.
