Camp Creek Farms is a small property that is intensive by design for maximum output of a wide range of crops, herbs, fruits, vegtables, and meats based on the specific diet of the client.
The client has Hashimotos's Disease which is a Thyroid condition that effects the whole body. The Naturopathic Doctor she sees has a specific type of diet she has to stick to in order to reset her thyroid to a sort of normal state without using any type of synthetic medicines. This takes a very specific diet and a great while to accomplish. The process takes adding new foods to diets and also taking away foods trying to eliminate allergies to foods as the diet slowly changes from month to month. This is the main focus for the design in this small farm.
This is just a 2 acre plot of land that is rectanglular. It is a Southwest/West facing slope that ranges from 1070' to 1100' in elevation. This property averages 60" of rain a year and is tucked in between two mountains in a small thin pass that runs from South west to North East.
This property has a small pond, Three out buildings, one barn and a two story house surrounded by pine and oak trees on three sides and the main road on the west. This property is still in the design stage but will have a small orchards and fruit bushes, grapes, hopps, Rabbits, chickens, fish, herbs, vegtables, smoke house, Thermal rocket mass heater stoves, drying rooms, solar water heaters, vermaculture, aquaculture and
Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.
MemberA member is a permaculturist who has never taken a PDC course. These cannot become PDC teachers. Members may be novice or highly experienced permaculturists or anywhere in between. Watch their updates for evaluation. |

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
