Advanced Permaculture Courses in Dominican Republic, winter 2019

Ready to take the next step in your permaculture education? Want to practice permaculture techniques with a hands-on approach?
Join us in this unique experience in Dominican Republic where we will apply water management techniques and develop a food forest. Get the knowledge and practice you need to be confident in your abilities and be an actor of change for the local communities.

Dates: from February 10 to 24, 2019 (see below for exact dates)
Location: ASCALA, San Pedro de Macoris region, Dominican Republic
Cost: $600 + tax ​for per week

Water Management Course: February 10-17th
Including:
- Swale construction
-Soakage pits
- Basic surveying techniques
- Soil erosion management
- Drought prevention

Food Forest Course: February 17-24th
Including:
- Observation and understanding of the natural structure of a forest ecosystem
- Ecosystem succession
- Choosing species for your climate
- Guild design
- Spacing and planning for maximum productivity
- Creation of natural fertility
- Natural pest control
- Wildlife management
- Seed growing and tree planting
