Sankofa Rainbow Roots Farm was the site of the first ever PDC on the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean .....taught by fellow Caribbean instructors from Trinidad and Tobago
The course ran from the 10th to the 24th of September among a Rastafarian community trying to reastablish itself as a certified organic farm. The elders within the community embraced the concepts of permaculture as a way of explaining what they had traditionally done and as a way of bringing in the younger generation into the the farm process
Some of the results achieved were a new herb spiral outside their front door and 2 designs showcasing an orchard and trails on their farm for their agro-eco tourism focus.
Twelve new designers were graduated and a great exchange of information was had by everyone.....anyone on facebook can view pictures of the whole design course at the link below....
