Peter Ash is an organic farmer with over 40 years of experience. He has planted and managed avocado and citrus groves in California for over 35 years. Peter switched to all natural and sustainable farming methods in the 1990s. Peter is a Master Composter, has trained with Dr. Elaine Ingham in The Soil Food Web, Permaculture Design with Warren Brush, Biodynamics with the Biodynamic Association of India, and in Compost Operations with the US Composting Council.
As owner of StraightAsh Environmental Solutions (www.straightash.com) Peter consults, teaches, and lectures internationally on Integrated Waste Management, Sustainable Food Systems and Permaculture Design. He is currently working on projects in Africa, Europe, India, and the U.S.
Peter is also a trained naturalist and docent at the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy in San Diego County. He loves teaching children and families how to live in harmony with nature, becoming more sustainable at home and in their daily lives. His passion for preserving and restoring degraded ecosystems is reflected in all his work.
