As an bio-engineer in land & forest management with a training in development anthropology, I traveled extensively with a focus on sustainable agriculture.
I came into contact with permaculture in Northern Malawi in 2000 and have since then been working for NGO's promoting sustainable agriculture. Agroecology, soil biology and agroforestry have been my main focus (see also http://www.agroforestry.be)
My interests include old wheat varieties intercropped with edible legumes in agroforestry systems for quality sourdough bread production (from seed selection to kneading technique), basement aquaponics in urban setting, alternative monetary systems, media interactions. I'm currently active in the Board of the European Agroforestry Federation and aim to bring professional farmers closer to permaculture design principles.
