I came to be interested in Permaculture in the early 90's through a friend on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. He had done a Design Course and was starting to implement design techniques and principles into his life and was creating keyhole gardens surrounding his living space, using sheet mulches. This was very new to us then. I got really inspired by the ideas, how much it made sense and the possibilities. It wasn't too long after that, that I decided to learn more about it, and took a PDC on Denman Island, at Standing People Farm in 1992 with Michael Pilarski (Friends Of The Trees, TERN), Liz Richardson (Linnaea Farm) and Oliver Kellhammer (Linnaea Farm).
After completing Benjamin Fahrer and Kat Steele's Permaculture Teacher Training Course in Seattle in November 2010 I was very inspired to start getting more involved and wanting to transition towards teaching Permaculture as a way of life. I am starting small, with what I feel comfortable with and am co-facilitating a 1 day "Intro To Permaculture" on my island home. There has been a lot of interest for it, so I am pretty stoked about that. I look forward to growing and learning as a teacher/facilitator.
