I was born and raised in a mountain town in the Western Cape, South Africa. From here on I went to study in Stellenbosch Uni and made my way to the UK for 2 years. I lived in Cornwall and got involved in small permaculture projects and workshops on shamanism.
A great variety of books and people had an influence on my interest in permaculture and living self-reliantly, while I find sustainability crucial, now more than ever. I stayed in Thailand last year on a farm in the north, here I gained experience with Akha tribes people who are known as the master farmers of Thailand. We had lots of friends visiting from Panya and Pun Pun who would bring seeds and help out on projects to benefit the system even more. It was amazing to live here!
At the moment I am in Vietnam and saving up a bit until I go back to the farm in Thailand in a couple of months. I want to gain more hands on experience and also get involved with the teaching aspect of permaculture design. South America will be my next journey and from there I'll see how things unfold in my path.
