I have been interested in permaculture for about a year. I live a organic lifestyle and love gardening. I feel that Gardening is one way to begin to become closer to nature and repair this damaged psyche.
The types of gardening I have learned are on a property in Queensland
Compost -
Companion planting
Sowing Seeds
Sheet Mulch -
Mulching -
Liquid Fertilizer
Transplanting -
Vermicomposting
I have also had the opportunity to help out on a property that was being set up to become a permaculture farm.
The owner had showed me how to do bottle walls
And passive building designs. Solid heating and cooling, solar path, good shores, good hat,
The appropriate technology
Solar ovens, mud bricks, tire benches, strew bale construction, earthships, compost toilets,
Water usage.
A lot of the things that we did were all trail and error.
And a lot of fun. I gained a lot of knowledge from the property and researching. hopefully be able use on my own property one day.
I will be doing a course on the Sunshine Coast to hopefully learn more.
