(projects i'm involved in)
(projects i'm following)
I'm a country kid, growing up in rural victoria, Australia. I came to reject this and moved to the city as soon as I had finished high school.
I had a feeling that something was wrong with the world from an early age, but did not know what to do about it.
I went to film school, travelled, worked, and then completed a Bachelor of Arts. I had (and still do) an intense in reinvigorating community, but no answers as to really how to do it.
When I finished, after being introduced to the study of Philosophy, I felt a lot of dispair, which was very much reflected in my personal life and mental state.
I drop everything 21 days after finishing university in November 2011, and went overseas for a year.
I had not heard of Permaculture until i arrived in Denmark, WOOFING with a collective arts and community project.
Their idea and implimentation of a Permaculture garden was limited, and in the beginning stages, but for some reason, the word Permaculture stayed in my mind.
I suddenly began to tell people that It was something that I was going to pursue, even though I barely had even read a single priniciple. Then suddenly I was listening to podcasts, reading introductions to Permaculture and completeing my PDC in Portugal, before going back to Australia in November 2012.
Full Steam Ahead: my questions of what to do about the world and community renewal were fast being answered.
Now I have begun small - slowly working towards studying at Gaia University (Cycle 1, 2013 onwards) and implimenting Permaculture principles in all aspects of my life.
I have started a balcony compost and garden at my apartment, I am volunteering at the city environmental park (CERES), guerilla gardening, I am looking for ethical employment in the community and aspire to many other things. Ultimately I would like to become involved in Permaculture aid work worldwide, and travel even more.
