Tom has a BS degree from Iowa State University in Horticulture and an MS degree in Parks and Recreation from San Jose State University. He is Landscape Architect in the state of Nevada. Tom lectured at Massey University in New Zealand for 3 years and has traveled around the world.

Tom is now owner of the River School Farm located on the Truckee River in West Reno. Our farm has been a permaculture demonstration site for the past 20 years.

Our newest Permaculture Food Forest site is located at Hug High School in Reno, NV. Build in 2010 we are now harvesting fruit, herbs, and flowers.
