I came to permaculture through landscape horticulture, which, while interesting in its own way, left me feeling there had to be more to working with a landscape than making it pretty. I found permaculture encompassed a set of ethics and a holistic view that resonated with me. My introduction to permaculture was through reading Permaculture Magazine, Permaculture Activist and David Holmgren.
I recently completed a beginning permaculture design certificate course and will be continuing my studies in an advanced PDC course this spring.
I look forward to learning and growing and finding my feet on this road, working within my local landscape and collaborating with other perrmaculturists. I am also looking forward to designing and building a small timber frame home, and hope to eventually have a demonstration site on my property.
