I'm a bio-engineer, doing a PhD in rural sociology, but searching now for real active involvement in alternative agricultural production techniques.
During my studies, I realise increasingly how fragile our agricultural system is in our country. After reading about resilience, CSA, soil management, urban agriculture, integral sciences etc, I think permaculture is promising, but still done in a modest way.
I'm planning to start with a couple of friends a permaculture garden in Gent. A surface of 800m² that will be open for all interested people. As such we hope that the permaculture idea will spread among other searchers for a sustainable food production.
