(projects i'm following)
My love to work with wood (and smelling the resin of slow grown pine trees) has ever since I was a child accompanied me. Working as a carpenter helped me even more to understand about wood... But as an Austrian friend said - what we now about wood is just the beginning:)
As architect – I became already during my studies interested in "sustainable" and healthy building - especially with material from renewable resources, like wood, straw, clay. My mentor and old professor Conni has warmed my heart and my filled my head with the basics of "Nachhaltigkeit" - and it was him, who made me come to the University in Lübeck / Germany.
During the last 10 years I have been working within all fields of architecture, both in Germany and Norway:
• Building construction
• Construction management
• Project planning and management
• Design
• Urban design
• Research (University of Applied Sciences, Lübeck, Germany)
• Teaching (University of Applied Sciences, Lübeck, Germany)
• Energy efficiency (energy calculations)
• Consultancy (Innovasajon Norge, AgderWOOD)
• Own business with architecture office SOLARK in Norway since 2008
By working both within Norway, Germany and Austria, I got to know a lot of wonderful skilled people and I built up a broad network of colleagues and companies within Europe.
I like to work together in team with other holistic thinking people. Important for me is an honest approach of energy efficiency and healthy building – in regard of the total embodied energy (Life Cycle Assessment) and the use of healthy building materials.
During the last years I noticed that my beliefs and working projects have much in common with the permaculture ethics...as they are
• Care for the earth
• Care for the people
• Fair / Return of surplus
Therefore and to be able to provide to the greatest possible extent an independent life in regard of energy and food – in the first step to enable myself and those who live with or around med, and in the second step in implementing permaculture even more in my work as architect.
Another project is the place in Tibet - where I have been in 2005 - and where I do really want to get back...
To be continued...
