I own a small flower farm/flower design company, Laughin' Gal Floral LLC on the Central Coast of California. I have been implementing permaculture practices on my flower farm for the past 12 years. Prior to farming, I worked as a Botanist and Riparian Ecologist in California and Oregon. I just completed the permaculture design course through Santa Cruz Permaculture with fabulous instruction from David Shaw. My hope for the course was to fine tune and expand my permaculture practices to include a no till approach to my annual flower production. Concurrently, I am working with the NRCS to expand on preexisting hedgerows, erect a new greenhouse with rainwater catchment and 15,000 gallons of rainwater storage, soil moisture monitoring, habitat enhancement and riparian creek restoration. My farm sits on 6 acres with an adjacent 70 acres that has yet to be touched. I look forward to expanding on my permaculture education so I can be a better steward of this lovely piece of land.
