Morag Gamble lives a permaculture life - and loves it. She has been leading permaculture education programs with children of all ages for 25 years around the world - from pre-school children to university students (adults too). She offers permaculture camps for teens, nature play programs for young children, project-based programs for homeschoolers and unschoolers, edible school garden programs, eco-scholar extension programs in ecological design, permaculture work experience, applied research in community gardens, eco-festival activities for kids and more.
Morag Gamble is the founder of the Permaculture Education Institute which aims to teach 1000s of new permaculture teachers who will go and teach in their own communities. Morag believes that we need permaculture educators everywhere – practical activists who can amplify community-based permaculture education and ripple out the type of skills, knowledge necessary for a positive future.
Morag has developed an innovative online Permaculture Educators’ Program (weaving together a permaculture design certificate and a permaculture teacher certificate). She is currently mentoring students from 5 continents and gifts programs to community leaders, particularly women, in the global south. She also contributes permaculture education programs into leading education centres such as Schumacher College. Morag’s permaculture youtube channel, Our Permaculture Life, has reached over 1.5 million people and her blog, also called Our Permaculture Life, has reached even more. These resources are freely accessible and are being used by schools, centres, and households around the world.
Through her online programs and living permaculture laboratories, including her own award-winning permaculture garden, Morag invites people to immerse themselves in deep learning about a one-earth, nature-connected, community-rich story inspired by indigenous cultures of sustainability, voluntary simplicity and re-localisation movements.
