Greetings! I am a permaculture enthusiast. Through personal study, and small scale projects, I have learned a lot. I have been interested in permaculture for nearly 10 years, but I lived in an apartment, and in the city, so there weren't very many opportunities to put it into practice.
I have worked in several community gardens, but again, it's hard to implement permaculture practices on someone else's land. One day, I hope to have my own little piece of land, but for now I am working in the backyard.
I would love to transition to a career in permaculture as a consultant. I am enrolled in a permaculture design course, and I have some project manaagement experience that will be very useful.
I would love to see permaculture principles adopted by the local farmers in my area (plains of Texas). As it is now, I feel we are on the verge of another Dust Bowl because of farming practices that we know are bad, and have known it for a hundred years. I am watching the work of the Conservation Corps being undone, and I am scratching my head as to why people think that the dust bowl won't happen again. Anyway, I have it in my mind that maybe I can be an instrument of change to help mitigate this. Change is never easy, but it does require work, and I am happy to do the work.
I would love to partner and socialize with other permaculturists in the area, and help work on projects.
