I completed my permaculture certificate in July, 2015.
I'm studying Natural Ressources at science faculty, Copenhagen University.
I have worked in Vandana Shivas farm outside of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, and helping to sow rise and harvest okra and saving seeds for her amazing seed bank.
My father was one of the pioneers within organic farming in the 70's, and by him, I have learned a lot about respecting the earth and working with the soil. It is a mindset that we do not share with many people, who only view the earth as a ressource we take from without giving anything back, until there are no ressources left for the next generations to come - and for all the animals suffering from our misuse of the land, we regard as ours.
Vandana Shiva has said, that "In Nature's economy, the currency is not money - it's life". I agree on that. You can't count your wealth on how much money you got - jeg count it on how much land you have, and indeed how you treat that land and how self-sustainable you can get in a long term by not mistreating that land, but growing and cultivating it in a sustainable way.
