Wes is a curious bugger from birth. He has been an organizer from his early days bringing groups of people together , it is an his blood
He loved history and specially Geography and studied Urban Planing in University.
First heard of Permaculture in 1992 when living in Hawaii and saw his first copy of The Permaculture Manual the was pulled out of a garbage can library in the jungle and knew this was what he had journeyed to find an ethical design system
Took my first PDC with Bill Mollison in 1996 then again in 1997 in Ojai CA. We the grads from the course South Coast Permaculture Guild was formed with listserves for each regional guild
Wes Roe is a co-founders of the Santa Barbara Permaculture Network www.sbpermaculture.org with Margie Bushman 2000 , an educational non-profit that has sponsored more than 80 workshops and events about permaculture and sustainability in the last decade.
He is a board member of Quailsprings Permaculture Center since 2004 http://www.quailsprings.org/

In 2008 we brought Woody Tasch, author of Slow Money, Investing as if Food, Farms, and Fertility Mattered to Santa Barbara, and as a result the Slow Money Santa Barbara Chapter was formed. Margie and Wes have been the local Slow Money representatives at the National Conferences and participated in establishing the structure of the National and Local chapter bylaws. In 2012 Slow Money Santa Barbara Chapter was recognized as an official chapter by the National organization of Slow Money.
Wes Roe has been on the the Permaculture Credit Union www.pcuonline.org board for 12 years, and is currently the Board President. Wes & has served as volunteer coordinator for the International Permaculture Convergence Support Group (www.ipcon.org) since its inception in 2005.
I would like to see in the future a National Permaculture Association for the USA , it is needed .
