I have worked outdoors for about 14 years now doing urban park maintenance for the city I grew up in and still live in today. I have always loved the outdoor part but there's some practices, most, that I don't believe to be sustainable or healthy for my local environment. I am new in this field but very excited to try these methods and affect the earth in a positive productive way.
I stumbled upon a podcast that often mentioned Permaculture methods and compared to the things I had learned in my previous work and life experience, these methods made much more sense to me and I became very excited to learn as much as I could. I learned of an online opportunity to obtain my PDC with a school called PermaEthos and here I am today.
For right now I am very new into this field and community. I have hooked up with my local " Permaculture Guild Group" and am hoping to take part in as many group projects as possible to really get some hands on experience in the field and learn from people who really understand, and embrace the concepts and ethics of Permaculture. My end goal would be to eventually create my own Permaculture based company or to join one that I would work well with and make that my full time work in the world.
