Path to permaculture: Started out by looking for ways to obtain fresh foods free of herbicide and pesticide residues. Learned about conventional agricultural production methods and looked for commercially viable sustainable alternatives. Focus concepts: Keyline water management, farm-based microabattoirs, social/economic interface, producers' cooperatives and direct produce sales models.
Present activities:
(1) Developing a business case for a farm-based microabattoir based on Stephen Tamplin's operation in Canowindra, Australia.
(2) Looking for an internship on an Australian organic farm which produces meat (multiple species preferred).
