Hello. I am an Environmental Engineer working at the Tampere university of applied sciences (TAMK) as a project engineer in Energy and environmental engineering with a view ongoing projects waste water remediation bio-furtilazers and urban agriculture.
I found out about permaculture after nearly quitting my degree program. I would have like to go farm instead. After a view years at the university I realise that there are more to farming than the traditional methods used by my grandfathers and most others in the world. I started looking into sustainable farming and came across permaculture 8 years ago. I was hook ever since. IT was hard however to go to Australia for the permaculture course given by Geoff Lawton. I was very exited when I found that it would be finally an online course. It took 3 years however to do it, but I finally did it.
I would like to buy my own farm in the future and practice permaculture principles on the farm and use it as an experimental example for others to apply on there own land. There is however still allot of bureaucracy in Finland that makes it hard to farm in an unconventional why. That includes building and living. As soon as I can get the legislation sorted and enough money gathered I could pursue in my dream of my own land and self sufficient living. At the moment I m also between two countries, Finland and South Africa. Lets see what the future wil bring.
