I really like economics and the efficiencies of interactions. I have focused this interest in the military and in business. Both were lacking fulfillment for me. I have since 'opted out' of a more traditional path. I still have businesses, but the focus of my interests and efforts has changed to a simpler life.
In 2010 I bought raw land and learned that I loved working with the land and learning everything I could about building a self-contained efficient homestead. In 2013, we bought a less remote home that meets both of our needs. These steps have led me to discover permaculture, design a main frame plan for our property, build the elements and eventually back up and take an online PDC with Geoff Lawton.
Today, I am building a farm at our home and watching the design take shape. I am geared toward producing meat for approximately 10 local families and perennial foods for us and the livestock (goats, pigs, chickens - in 2015). I would help someone if asked, but I plan to build a self-contained, sustainable homestead and if it attracts other to follow suit its great, if not we'll continue to be healthy, happy and provide for ourselves and our friends.
