Live in Malawi and Spain.
Have a farm in Malawi called Moyofarm.
It is a certified organic farm and we grow Moringa that is exported globally.
In Spain, I have an online food store called www.naked-organics.eu where we specialise in certified organic dried foods, seeds, pulses, etc.
I started this store as a side business to be able to source high quality organic foods which are either very difficult or very expensive to buy in Spain and the rest of the EU.
All of the above led me to permaculture. As good as all this certified organic food is, being involved in the system myself, the shortcomings of the organic food system became evident.
There was an internal feeling that food could be managed and produced better with improved care and attention for the earth and its limited resources.
After lots of listening and researching, I found permaculture and started following various permaculture sites and people.
In February 2015, I came across Geoff Lawton's online permaculture course - this was the best money I've spent in a very long time.
No matter what the business is, high quality online courses are not easy to come by these days. I highly recommend this course.
I still need to find a way to integrate permaculture into Naked Organics but for Moyofarm, it's an exciting blank canvas.
Over the next few years, we will introduce permaculture designs into Moyofarm. It will serve as a demonstration and learning farm for the two standards, certified organic and permaculture, to be able to work side by side in harmony.
