I am a suburban home owner. I am an IT professional/consultant in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I enjoy the outdoors and everything gardening. I am a founding member of Permaethos.com and completed their PDC.
I was introduced to Permaculture through listening to The Survival Podcast. When I get home from work, I don't want anything to do with computers and want to get outside and play in the yard. I got rid of the typical raised garden beds and have began installing a perennial food forest, along with practicing permaculture ethics and principles.
Over the next 3 to 5 years, I would like to take my consulting experience and begin introducing permaculture to suburbia in my area. My food forest should be very productive at that time and will be proof of concept that a permaculture back yard in a suburban setting can provide an abundance of healthy food, be fun/educational for the youth and be a work free/relaxing escape from everyday life for the adults.
