Andrew is a professional programmer originally from Oregon. During his upbringing, he lived on a variety of commercial and semi-commercial farms.

Andrew originally was introduced to permaculture through online research of water conservation techniques. Beginning with aquaponics and growing methods, this eventually led to organic farming and sustainable agriculture. Upon discovering the permaculture culture, he realized that the ethics and practices strongly resonated with his personal beliefs and life goals.

Andrew currently owns 10 acres of desert west of the Great Salt Lake surrounding a natural run-off bottleneck. The land is currently in the process of being surveyed and marked for swales.
