Taupheeq, the International Projects Manager at Muslim Aid Australia currently manages the various Permaculture initiatives and projects MAA is undertaking around the world. Taupheeq comes from an IT background and has a Bachelor’s Degree in double majors, Information Systems and Computer Science. He has over 12 years of experience managing IT projects and helpdesk services globally and has travelled extensively within Australia and around the world including the South Pacific, Europe, UK, Africa and Middle East.
Taupheeq joined the MAA team in the capacity of International Projects Manager in 2014 and currently oversees SMART Sustainable Development projects around the world which incorporates MAA’s Bundled project concept doubling the benefits of Humanitarian Aid through proactive, long-term sustainable projects with communities rather than short term reactive Aid only. The core of this type of Aid is through the Permaculture ethos in the project design and implementation.
Taupheeq completed his ‘Online Permaculture Design Course’ with Geoff Lawton in 2014 and furthered his Permaculture education by completing the ‘Permaculture for Aid Work and International Development’ with Alex McCausland in 2015 at the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia. By teaming up with PRI and Geoff Lawton and Alex McCausland now part of the MAA team, Taupheeq has been able to drive Permaculture projects with good understanding of its concepts backed by on the field experience from his two mentors.
