I am from a Padang, which is located in the province of West Sumatra, is one of the territory of Indonesia. I'm graduated with Plant Pathology Bachelor from Andalas University at Padang, Indonesia in 2006.
In the place I grew up, in West Sumatra, Indonesia. I often see farmers in local areas that are considered poor because they do not have the money, but they can meet their basic needs with a quality crop (organic plant). Because the crop is planted not for commercial, only in small quantities, which can meet the needs of the family, the plant will not be given inorganic fertilizers and pest control only by increasing the diversity of plants in their garden. It was now I realized as one of the forms in their independence and have implemented some permaculture principles long before I noticed.
Now I work as a field officer in the field of agriculture and agroforestry Caritas Czechs republic. since the year 2010, we work on sustainable livelihoods enterprise programs in post conflict areas in Aceh Jaya. We focus in developing the cultivation of paddy with low emission of carbon, or we refer to as the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Organic and cultivation of organic cocoa. We do training and guidance to farmers and students residing in the village guided through a field school.
I just followed the permaculture design training course at Ubud, Bali in February 2011 with John Champagne and Phil Gall from Australia as a trainer.
