I studied Political Science in my undergraduate education at the University of Arizona, but upon graduating found my degree and the careers it offered unsatisfying. I've been bouncing around since looking for something that inspired me.

While teaching high school math from 2008-2009, I discovered permaculture and developed a dream of owning 20-40 acres of land in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Since then I have been teaching myself everything I can about permaculture. I finally had both the time and the money to sign up for a PDC, and graduated from Geoff Lawton's online course in September 2014.

Having spent the better part of 6 years studying many of the "hangers" in the permaculture wardrobe, I'm excited to finally be a certified consultant and get a much better picture of how the wardrobe actually functions. My fiancee and I recently purchased a house on 1.5 acres, which I will be turning into a small acreage demonstration site from which I'll run my design firm. I plan to offer permaculture consulting for folks in the Pacific Northwest to begin with, but would love to expand to anywhere that people will hire me once I gain more and more experience.

The Transition from Study to Application

I'm at an inflection point in my permaculture practice. For the last few years, I've had very little opportunity to practice permaculture with much more than a balcony garden. All that is changing this year!
